The 87th Academy Award Nominations

Today, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominations for the 87th annual Academy Awards. On Sunday, February 22nd, one of the eight nominees for Best Picture will preside over all the rest but until then, BIRDMAN and THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL lead with nine nominations, followed by THE IMITATION GAME with eight. Supposed frontrunner, BOYHOOD, has six.

  1. Genuinely FRIGHTENING how we agree on the surprises and snubs! The other snubs I would add are no love for SNOWPIERCER and “Big Eyes” for best song.

    • I disliked Snowpiercer and don’t see the fuss. I know a lot of people loved it but I felt it was kind of ridiculous. I do love me some Big Eyes, the song that is. It was the only thing I felt the film deserved actually.
