well, i think they had to explain the new character, so i didn’t mind the beginning of the movie at all. the second half relies heavily on action scenes, but ti did speed things up a it. overall, i really liked renner and weisz in it.

You have a good point; the movie dragged a little in some places because they were trying so hard to tie it into the Jason Bourne timelines. I honestly didn’t care where Jason Bourne was/what he was doing, it just slowed Aaron Cross’ story down! I loved watching Renner and Weisz and almost wanted to fast forward back to them any time we switched to Ed Norton.

I agree with Candice. I didn’t mind the slower pace in the first half at all. It built up a new character and took its time unfolding the story. Loved Renner. Thought he did a great job taking over.

I agree with Candice. I think what Gilroy was trying to do (being the resident screenwriter of the franchise) was to expand the Bourne universe, and remind that we’re still inside that. What happens is that Gilroy had little knowledge on how to execute well what he plans to do.

To be clear, I did not mind the beginning of this movie at all. The change of pace was a welcome one. That being said, I found the earlier scenes with Renner worked but the Norton scenes were tedious and obvious. The actual action got started too late for me and by the time we got there, Renner had not done enough to cement my interest. Weisz elevates the entire affair for me, including Renner and their scenes together kept me interested.

All in all, a valiant effort and a success in terms of continuing the franchise but it really only made me long for more Damon.
